Moving FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

Common frequently asked questions from our customers

What areas do you serve?

We mainly provide moving services in Macomb, Oakland and Wayne county areas. However, our service area includes all of Michigan.

When will the movers arrive?

The movers will arrive within a 2-hour window frame. We offer different time slots to accommodate our customer needs. They always give you a courtesy call when they are on the way.

Do I have to be there during the move?

Yes, you need to be present on moving day. If you cannot be there, you can elect to have another responsible adult to be there. The movers will need to have paperwork signed at the beginning and at the end of the move. You will need to guide the movers and be available for any questions during the moving process. Once the truck is loaded, you will need to do a walk through to be sure all requested items are loaded. At the delivery location, you will need to tell the movers where you would like the furniture to be placed.

What happens if I am not happy with how the furniture is place in the new home?

No problem! Sometimes we do not know how the furniture should be arranged until we see it in place. We understand. Just let the movers know and they can rearrange it until you are satisfied.

How do you charge for a local move?

Local moves are charged by the hour plus a one time fee per truck. The hourly rate is determined by the size of the moving crew.

Do I need to empty my drawers?

Typically, you can leave your clothing or linens in the drawers. To prevent damage or loss, all other items will need to be removed.

What if a worker gets hurt in my home?

Don’t worry! We carry workers compensation insurance to cover injuries on the job. When hiring movers, make sure the company carries a workers compensation policy. If the movers are not protected with workers compensation, you may be liable if they are hurt in your home. If the moving company does not provide you with proof of coverage, this is a tell tale sign that it may be a rogue moving company operating illegally.

Do you have a minimum charge for moving?

Full-service local moves have a minimum cost of 3 hours labor plus truck fee.

Should I tip the movers?

Tipping is at your discretion. It is recommended to tip your movers $4 or $5 if you are satisfied with your moving service. If you feel your movers have gone above and beyond for you, consider increasing the tip.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes, we are fully compliant with the State of Michigan. We have been licensed to conduct business and insured since 2005.
